I am a powerful accountant/bookkeeper and office manager (using Quick Books, different versions up to version 7 for last 8-9 years), who is also trained in computer repair and small MS networks and software. Management of a small business environment. My versatility, resourcefulness and experience with so many flavors of industry (worked with CPA’s, apprenticed for two years and owned own bookkeeping service 15 years) assures any company owner that I can "walk in" and take over without much "orientation" time spent. Cleaned up five separate companies and then transferred new general ledger balances over to Quick Books Pro V7 from company set up to auditing and cleaning up general ledger to preparation of financial statements. One company had five different companies with five separate payrolls and taxation. Performed asset and liability and equity search on all five and brought books up to current and accurate status.
Another, separate company was a partnership that was dissolving and I did the “close out” of partnership on my Quick Books Pro V6 at home with profit and loss statement and post close balance sheet for owners share of profit distribution.

Complete management of the running of the office with maintaining 2 sets of books. We have 2 companies: Elite Painting & Construction and K J Properties. In both companies I take care of the books through financials and payroll taxes. I also maintain all of the computers and make sure the networking of them is running smoothly. With K J Properties I handle the property management duties and report directly to the company president.
This position was so enjoyable because I was exposed to a nice variety. Maintenance of 2 entirely different companies. One is involved in construction and the other is property management. A typical day consists of bookkeeping, computer maintenance, interacting with clients or tenants, collections of accounts receivable and also rents. Duties were to make sure the office is running smoothly as the president is most often out in the field so I work alone a lot of the time. It doesn't matter if I am alone or the office is full. I am comfortable in both environments. One day I may be showing a prospective tenant a suite and the next day I could be taking apart a computer to upgrade it or repair it.

Rescue company’s general ledger and financials. Company was in financial trouble with NO credible chart of accounts (Quick Books Pro) and no accurate balances on the chart of accounts. It was my job to round up all source docs, search out assets, liabilities, and establish owner equity so literally I began from square one beginning with journalizing and then posting to the general ledger, prepare trial balance, adjusting entries as I discovered yet more documents that impacted either PL or balance sheet, prepared adjusted trial balance, then was able to produce credible financials (income statement, balance sheet, owner equity statement)- Then with company financial picture established, I arranged payment plans with the IRS and also vendors. And thus began the paying off outstanding debts and repairing relations with outside parties who had claims against the company.
I left this position to work for a company who offered me a position closer to home.

Full charge bookkeeper through financials, quarterly and year end taxes, including 1120 Income tax return. Managed office with 2 staff members supporting me. Until nearly the end of my tenure, I prepared all payroll and taxation manually until we turned it over to EDP.
We manufactured clone personal computers and this is where I developed my keen interest in computer hardware and software. Sometimes if we had a large order, I would go out in the shop and help the techs build the machines. It was great fun doing this.
I left because the company was going out of business.
