I HAVE LAWFIRM & COUNSELING CENTER EXPERIENCE AS A RECEPTIONIST. HEAVY SWITCHBOARD, MAIL, MS WORD, OUTLOOK, EDITING ON ACCESS/EXCELL.
EXCELLENT PHONE SKILLS, HEAVY SWITCHBOARD/ORGANIZATION SKILLS, VERBAL/WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS. HARD WORKER, DEPENDABLE, GREAT ATTITUDE. NOT A "CLOCK WATCHER", WILLING TO WORK OVERTIME WHEN NEEDED.
I AM SEEKING A PERMANENT, FULL-TIME POSITION WITH A STABLE ORGANIZATION. IF YOU EMAIL ME, I WILL SEND A RESUME, PHOTO AND REFERENCES YOU CAN CHECK. YOU CAN CHECK ALL OF THEM. I HAVE A LOT OF WORK EXPERIENCE. I AM 54 AND DON'T APOLOGIZE FOR BEING 54. I'M NOT SLOW AND OLD. I HAVE A LOT OF ENERGY AND AM AN EXCELLENT EMPLOYEE. I HAVE BEEN IN 2 LAY-OFFS IN 2 YEARS (WITH A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE). BUT, DESERVE SOMETHING BETTER.
I HAVE BEEN ON 2 INTERVIEWS RECENTLY WHERE AGE WAS BROUGHT UP. THIS WAS SURPRISING, BECAUSE THEY WERE LAWFIRMS. ONE STATEMENT "NO ONE WORKING HERE IS OVER 35, WOULD THAT BOTHER YOU?", ANOTHER WAS, "WELL, WE CAN'T ASK ANYONE HOW OLD THEY ARE. I CAN'T TELL HOW OLD YOU ARE, BUT IF WE HIRE SOMEONE TOO YOUNG, THEY COULD GET PREGNANT, AND IF WE HIRE SOMEONE TOO OLD, THEY COULD BE TAKING OFF BECAUSE THEY HAVE DYING PARENTS".
I DON'T CARE HOW OLD MY CO-WORKERS ARE. I DON'T CARE IF MY BOSS IS YOUNGER THAN ME (OR OLDER). HE OR SHE CAN BE 22 OR 82. I DON'T CARE AND NEVER DID. ANY KIND OF PREJUDICE IS IGNORANT. I GO TO WORK TO DO MY JOB JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DOES. AND I DO THE BEST JOB I CAN. AGE SHOULDN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING. APOLOGIZING FOR BEING OVER 50 IS THE SAME THING AS APOLOGIZING FOR NOT BEING DEAD YET. PEOPLE ARE LIVING LONGER WHICH MEANS PEOPLE ARE WORKING LONGER. I WANT TO WORK FOR AN EMPLOYER WHO IS MORE CONCERNED ABOUT RUNNING THEIR BUSINESS THEN IF ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES GETS A GRAY HAIR OR WRINKLE.
I WOULD LIKE BENEFITS, BUT WOULD BE GLAD TO CONSIDER WORKING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS HONEST AND CARES ABOUT THEIR EMPLOYEES. MY SALARY REQUIREMENT IS ABOUT $12.00 HRLY.
