JAVA Developer
DESCRIPTION
• Responsible for detailed technical design and development of distributed applications using existing and emerging technology platforms.
• Provides technical direction to team members and is a key contributor; assists with transfer of knowledge of technical skills, mentoring, and coaching.
• Assesses business and organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of new application systems or enhancements to existing applications.
• Designs or adapts frameworks and best practices established for the project or unit, or by the System or industry.
• In a lead role, designs, codes, tests and documents new systems or enhancements to existing systems of high complexity and scope, working with common applications designs and specifications, utilizing industry and system standard procedures, products and methodologies.
• Executes performance and stress testing; assists in leading design and code reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of proven application development experience that includes creating distributed applications through analysis of specific business requirements.
• 3+ years of Java and J2EE programming experience.
• 1+ year of experience developing EJBs and JSP, and demonstrated use of J2EE patterns and frameworks.
• Experience with web model view controller (MVC) frameworks (i.e. STRUTS).
• 1+ year of experience with the WebSphere Studio Application Development or Eclipse tool.
• Experience with utilizing version control tools, and deploying applications to the WebSphere Application Server.
• 1+ year of experience using the Unified Modeling Language (UML)
• 2+ years of experience with using relational database tools and concepts.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies and practices.
• Experience with performance and load tools (i.e. Mercury Loadrunner, CompuWare QA Load).
• Ability to quickly learn and practically apply new concepts or principles.
• Ability to speak and write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles.
• Experience with and is comfortable with, and is willing to initiate sharing knowledge and mentoring others.
