I've been dining at Monica's for 17 years. It has changed very little, which is good because I've always loved the food and service.

Monica's features Tex-Mex with a bit of interior Mexico influence. My favorite dish is the chicken enchiladas with tomatillo (green) sauce. I've always been happy with the fajitas, salmon, and Greene pasta (named for the owner). Never had anything I wouldn't order again.

Probably the best aspect of the food is, it's always good and sometimes it's a little different. The salsa can vary, which tells me it's made in batches on-site. I like that because the basic flavor is always there.

Weekend nights are a party, so don't go late expecting to have a romantic conversation. There will be music in the main dining room, and it will be loud and fun. Might be an adjacent room for a quieter dining experience. Weeknights are most always sedate; check the web site to see what's happening.

My wife and I used to meet here after work about three times a month, and were always happy with what was served and how. We have a family now, so we're most often at Monica's for Tuesday's half-price specials. I wouldn't recommend "cheap" unless it was good; half-price night is both. Really, sometimes I feel as if I've gotten too much for my money, so I always tip based on full price, plus.

I also recommend the margaritas, whether they're full price or crazy-inexpensive (Wednesday with dinner). Get one with a dose of sangria for a delightful twist.

They're doing something right here because I recognize many of the same staff year-after-year. And that works both ways: We took my daughter here for her 6th birthday; when we returned with her at age 9 (we don't always take the kids!), the maitre'd remembered her and what she had ordered!

Monica's really rocks! The food is awesome, especially the Mexican Lasagne! Monica is quite the hostess and she can really cook! Also try the awesome queso! It is to die for!! The margaritas are also wonderful! I give it 5 stars!!!

Is this the same restaurant that was on the Food network with Rachel Ray a couple of years ago? If it is, wow I can't wait to go!
